Poynt Acquired by GoDaddy for $320 Million to Expand Commerce Services

Poynt has been acquired by web hosting company GoDaddy for $320 million. Poynt’s mission over the last seven years has been to connect small businesses with commerce technology superpowers by offering a complete suite of products from point-of-sale systems to loyalty and rewards programs. GoDaddy is a company that shares Poynt’s vision of empowering small businesses and has acquired the payments company to rapidly expand their e-commerce capabilities. Poynt is already used by more than 100,000 merchants worldwide, and GoDaddy plans to bring Poynt’s services to its platform of 20 million customers.

Since day one, Bould Design has been Poynt’s strategic design partner in the development of their point-of-sale devices. Poynt’s unique terminals display a highly original fusion of form and function. The studio’s designs for Poynt have been widely emulated throughout the industry.
